November 26 – God The Lord Will Be Worshipped

“All the nations You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name.  For You are great and do wondrous things; You alone are God.”  Psalm 86:9,10

Devotional Thought For The Day

Praise of God and acknowledgement of His wondrous glory is inevitable – “all nations You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord.”  Again, “there is none other God but one” [1 Cor. 8:4].  From Moses to the psalmist to the prophets and apostles, the confession is the same – “You alone are God.” On the Last Day when all people observe the glorious coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, then “every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen.” [Rev. 1:7]  In fact, “at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” [Phil. 2:10,11]  Whether believing in God, knowing and believing the love that He has for us, or whether rejecting Him in squalid, rebellious, and incorrigible unbelief, in the end all people will have to acknowledge Him as God, the only True and Living God, and give Him glory.  Those who know Him rejoice exceedingly in this reality, and can hardly wait for it to come!

For we know that God is great and that He does wondrous things.  Too bad Muslims have “stolen” this praise of God, that He is great.  That they attribute this greatness to the wretched “god” allah is reprehensible, moronically and diabolically insane.  Their “god” does nothing for his adherents – save send them off to slaughter those who are true believers in Christ Jesus, those who cling to the only True and Living God! He promises them great indulgence of their sinful flesh in his “paradise,” especially if they destroy themselves in the mass murder of others. Other “gods” are no better – for they all demand obedience from their adherents before they will “bless” them, and rather than having love for all people, these gods operate on a “tit for tat” basis – like karma.  Their adherents go out to people’s doorsteps and try to rip them away from the church, the body of Christ, and turn them back to darkness.  Their ignorance and wickedness is wretched and deplorable – almost impossible for us to stomach.

Believers rejoice with the psalmist in the wondrous things that God does – like sending His only-begotten Son, in Whom “all the fullness of Deity dwells bodily” [Col. 2:9], as “the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world” [Jn. 1:29], as “the blood atonement for our sins, and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” [1 Jn. 2:2] He has promised us eternal life and guaranteed us salvation as His gracious gifts – to be received by faith and faith alone [Rom. 3:21-25; Eph. 2:8,9].  He has guaranteed our resurrection to glory and bliss in a new heaven and earth, “in which righteousness dwells.” [2 Pet. 3:13]  All of this He provides for us graciously and mercifully, because He loves us, because “God is love,” and “not because of works done by us in righteousness” [Tit. 3:5].  He is wondrous, and He is glorious in His great love for us, and so we worship and praise Him, gladly bowing our knees to Him and confessing that He is Lord, glorifying God the Father Who in love sent Him to be our Savior.

So once again, praise of God and acknowledgement of His wondrous glory is inevitable – “all nations You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord.”  Again, “there is none other God but one” [1 Cor. 8:4].  From Moses to the psalmist to the prophets and apostles, the confession is the same – “You alone are God.”  We who know Him in Christ Jesus are privileged to participate in this worship of faith today, at present, and every day of our lives!  We are among the first-fruits of the wonders and glory to come!

Prayer For The Day

Dear Lord Jesus, grant us courage, constancy, and perseverance in adhering to Your glorious Name, in living joyful lives of faith and love, and giving You all glory, honor, and worship. Protect us from those who hate You, and who seek to destroy us. Come quickly Lord, for we are eager to see the revelation of Your great glory on the Last Day.  Amen.
